Venkat Raman Singh Shyam, born in a Pardhan Gond family in the countryside of Madhya Pradesh, learned his art at a young age, supported by his uncle, the legendary Jangarh Singh Shyam. With his dazzling talent, Venkat has created his personal style in the Gond tradition. He explores colours and media which makes his paintings very distinct. His works, however, retain a deep link with Gond spirituality and a closeness to nature. While young, he has exhibited solo in India, Canada, the United States and Australia. He was notably honored by the National Gallery of Art in Ottawa and the National Museum in Melbourne. His works have a speculative interest and have reached some of the largest collectors in New York, Paris and Japan.
