Balu Jivya Mashe is the son of famous Warli artist Jivya Soma Mashe. His pictorial style is rooted in the Warli tradition, with rhythmic and simplified forms representing the complexities of the world around him. In 2007, the artist exhibited some of his paintings with his father at the Chemould gallery in Bombay. He piqued attention due to the use of his contemporary treatement while using the traditonal Warli pictorial language with ease.
