  • Vijay Sadashiv Mashe carries on the tradition of the Warlis, like his father Sadashiv Mashe and his grandfather Jivya Soma Mashe. Vijay Mashe's art is rooted in the style of Warli, with rhythmic and simplified forms representing the complexity of the world around him. Vijay has a deep understanding of nature which is reflected in aspects of rural life and forests in his designs. He also recreates the tribal myth, from a feminist perspective. He was the Honorary Artist of the Mithila Museum in Japan and also created specific works for festivals of India in Russia and the United States. His works have been part of private collections for the past decade and have seen their value increase in resale.
