  • Jayashri Kiran Gimbhal, granddaughter of Jivya Soma Mashe, learned with her brothers and cousins supported by their grandfather. Her traditional marriage and her age-old rituals followed by women keep her anchored in Warli folklore, which she interprets with her nimble brushstrokes on canvas, bringing a contemporaneity. As a young artist, her style began to evolve, attracting the interest of private art collectors. She participated in contemporary exhibitions in India and her works reached the shores of the United States.
