Sadashiv Mhase, the eldest son of Jivya Soma Mhase, learned to paint as an artist in traditional knowledge with his father and with the village elders, especially women. His style has since evolved into bold themes, where certain elements of the composition are exaggerated in form and amplitude. Sadashiv has received many honors and awards in India and Japan. His works are in prominent museum collections in Japan, India, the United States, France and many other countries. He was the chief-artist in honour to create a series of seven murals at the India House at cité Universitaire in Paris, France.
